‘Blue Angel' Centre has joined the action for the boy Ivan Tomić (16) who needs a surgery of both legs and the doctors have recommended Pediatric Orthopedic Clinic in Aschau im Chiemgau. His parents Ivana and Pero Tomić and the whole family and friend have been trying to raise about 40.000 euros, the sum needed for the surgery, and to take Ivan in Germany, where they had already taken Ivan in April last year for medical examinations. The doctors established that there are indications for surgery which would enable Ivan upright and more economical walking because his walk now has pronounced knee flexion, which means walking in squat position. Ivan was born during 29th week of pregnancy and his chances of survival were very slim. However, he survived and spent 3 weeks in an incubator, after which kinesitherapy has started in the specialized hospital in Goljak. Ivan made his first steps at the age of six with the help of his parents.
His mother Ivana has quit her job in order to take care of her son. Today he is a sixteen-year-old boy, a student of the first grade of a secondary school and he is transported to and from school every day.
